"Here in America, you write your own destiny. You make your own future." (Remarks by President Obama in a National Address to America's Schoolchildren, 2009)
Hello everyone! My name is Lissette Perry. I teach Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking to English Language Learners at Raleigh-Bartlett Meadows Elementary. The program is called ESL or English as a Second Language and it is offered to students who speak foreign languages. I teach Kindergarten through Fifth Grade whose primary languages include Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Kurdish, Chinese, and many others. Please click on Overview of the Program to learn more about the program.
I received my Masters degree in Instructional and Curriculum Leadership at the University of Memphis. Among other degrees that I hold are Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Instructional Design and Technology (IDT).
I love to inspire my students to enjoy reading and writing and to love learning as a whole. In my classes, my students are encouraged to share their minds. They are expected to ask questions and explore ideas that interest them.
We welcome you to witness our growth in learning...our Journeys to SUCCESS!
